Terms of Service
How we quote, how we book, what we guarantee, and what we can honestly promise about a boat.
Who this is between
These terms are between you and Bayside Boat Detailing, LLC, of Tampa Bay, Florida. They cover using this website and booking work with us. Booking work means you accept them.
What we do
We are a mobile boat detailing business. We come to your boat: your home, your marina, your lift, your trailer or your dry rack. We bring water, power and our own equipment, so all we need from you is access.
We work across Tampa Bay, from Hudson in the north to Apollo Beach in the south, and we keep to about an hour's drive of Ruskin. If you are near the edge of that it is still worth asking.
We do boat detailing, gel coat restoration, ceramic coating, and ongoing maintenance through Captain's Club.
Quotes and prices
Everything is priced per foot, so a 24 footer and a 40 footer are never the same job. Where a price lands also depends on the condition of the gel coat, so we ask for photographs before quoting.
The prices published on this site are starting rates and the quote we give you is the price for your boat. Two things apply to every quote:
- Boats 40 feet and over are priced for the hull and the topside separately, so they come in higher than the per foot rate on its own suggests.
- Boats in the water take longer to work on and carry a small additional charge.
We do not charge for travel anywhere in the area above. Getting to your boat is part of what the work costs.
A quote is based on the photographs and the description you give us. If the boat turns out to be in materially worse condition than it looked, we will tell you before we start and agree the change with you. We will not do extra work and bill you for it afterwards.
Booking, access and the day
When you book, we agree a day with you. You do not need to be there while we work, and most of our customers are not. What we do need is access to the boat, and if your marina restricts working hours or wants contractors listed and insured, tell us when you book and we will sort that out.
If we cannot get to the boat on the agreed day because access was not available, we will rearrange with you.
Weather moves boat work. If conditions mean the job cannot be done properly, we will move it and tell you why.
Rescheduling and canceling
If you need to move or cancel a booked day, let us know at least 24 hours beforehand and there is nothing to pay. Moving a job depends on what is open in the schedule, so the earlier you tell us the more there is to choose from.
Canceling inside 24 hours can carry a charge, because the day was held for your boat and it is usually too late for us to fill it. If we are the ones moving the day, for weather or for anything else, you pay nothing.
Payment
Payment terms come with the quote or the invoice for your job, since they move with the work and with the boat. Whatever is on that document is what applies, and you will have it before we start.
Our guarantee
If you are not happy with the work, we come back at no extra cost until you are. That has been the policy since Tim was doing every boat on his own and it has not changed.
What we can and cannot promise
Gel coat restoration brings back the color and the gloss that are still under the oxidation, and on almost every boat there is more under there than the owner expects. Where a hull has worn through to the fiberglass, that is past what polishing can fix, and you will hear that from us right away, before we have taken your money.
Protection wears out. Florida sun and salt work on a hull every day it sits outside, so no finish we put on is permanent, and how long yours holds depends on how the boat is kept and whether the protection is topped up.
We work carefully on other people's property and we are insured. We are not responsible for damage that was already there, for faults in the boat itself, or for anything that fails while we are working on it for reasons that have nothing to do with the work.
Captain's Club
Captain's Club is our ongoing maintenance plan, monthly or quarterly, priced per foot. What each visit covers is set out on the Captain's Club page.
You are not signing up for a year. There is a notice period, and it is set out in the agreement you sign when you join, along with how pausing and canceling work.
Photographs and video of your boat
We photograph the work as we go and sometimes we film it, because a before and after is how this business gets explained to the next person. It is part of how Bayside works and it is worth knowing about before we start.
We ask you before we publish. Nothing of your boat goes on YouTube, Instagram or this website until we have asked, and if you would rather it stayed private then it stays private. Say yes and change your mind later and we will take it down.
We do not publish your name, the boat's registration or where it is kept.
This website
The words, photographs and design on this site belong to Bayside Boat Detailing. The prices, timings and descriptions on it are given in good faith as a guide. Nothing on this site is an offer or a quote until we have given you one.
Liability
We take responsibility for our own work and for damage we cause. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, our liability for any one job is limited to what you paid us for it. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot legally be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Florida.
Changes
If these terms change, this page changes and so does the date at the top of it.
