What it includes and what it costs

Boat Detailing Servicesand Pricingin Tampa Bay

A full detail is a complete wash, machine wax on the gel coat and motors, and the interior brought back with it. We come to your boat, we bring everything with us, and it's priced per foot so you know what you're looking at before we start.

What a full boatdetail covers

People use the word “detail” to mean anything from a rinse with a hose to a full day's work, so here's exactly what we do. Every one of these happens on every visit.

  • Complete wash of all surfaces, bow to stern
  • Machine wax on the gel coat and the motors
  • Water spots removed and the glass machine polished
  • Metal and brightwork polished by hand
  • Vinyl deep cleaned and protected, which is what stops it cracking in this sun
  • Electronics polished and protected
  • Compartments cleaned out
  • Scum line removed
  • Rust removed

What boat detailingcosts in Tampa Bay

Boat detailing is priced per foot. It's the fairest way to do it, since a 22 foot bay boat and a 38 foot cruiser are completely different days of work.

A full detail starts at $30 per foot, and where you land above that comes down to one thing: how far the gel coat has gone. A boat that's been looked after needs washing, waxing and protecting. A boat that's gone chalky needs correcting first, and that's a restoration.

Your detail starts at

$720

Based on $30 per foot. The final price depends on the condition of your gel coat.

ft

Boats 40 feet and over or sitting in the water are quoted differently. These take longer to work on, so those carry a small charge on top.

Could you dothis yourself?

Honestly, yes, and plenty of owners do. It's similar to having your car detailed or your pool serviced.

Sure you can do it, but do you really want to?

The part most people underestimate is the machine work. A wash is a couple of hours on a Saturday and anyone can do that. Getting an even finish out of a machine polisher, without burning through the gel coat on a corner where it's thin, takes practice and the right pads, and that's usually the point where somebody calls us. If you'd sooner have your weekend back, that's what we're here for.

Captain's Club

Want it tostay like this?

Most people come to us for one detail, and then find they'd rather not go through the whole thing again in eighteen months. That's fair. Florida starts undoing our work the moment we pull out of the driveway, and a boat that isn't kept up ends up needing the same correction twice.

Captain's Club is how we stop that. We come out on a schedule, wash the boat, check how the gel coat's holding up and top the protection up before it wears out. Plenty of our customers join after their first detail, once they've seen what the boat can look like.
